Built in 1882, the Commonwealth Hotel is a Cooks Hill and Newcastle institution!

First called the Cosmopolitan Hotel, the hotel’s name was changed to the Commonwealth Hotel in 1901 to celebrate Australia’s federation. Locals past and present affectionately know the hotel as simply “the Commo.”

Moreish Mystery Monday was on tonight and this is what you missed!

Entrée: Prawn and vermicelli rice paper roll with Asian salad

Main: House smoked barramundi, prawns, cauliflower purée and bok choy. Topped with a gruyere cheese volute
Dessert: chocolate soup with a vanilla bean ice cream and berry compote.

Plus bread to start.

Moreish Mystery Monday’s are on every Monday night from 5pm. Three courses plus bread for only $29. Our talented Chef’s are in complete control – each course is a mystery until it is presented to you!
